What is the first thing we need to do to get married?

♥      Contact me for a Marriage Kit containing all legal and ceremony information regarding getting married in Australia.

What are the legal requirements?

♥     You must both be over the age of 18 to marry.
♥     A Notice of Intended Marriage must be completed no earlier than 18 months prior to the proposed wedding date and no later than one month and one day prior to the wedding date.
♥    You will need to obtain a permit from Council if your wedding will be in a public place.
♥    You will need two witnesses at your wedding who are both over the age of 18.

What information do we need to provide?

♥     Photo identification, such as a Drivers Licence; and
♥     Original Australian Birth Certificates or Passports, if you were born in Australia, otherwise a current Foreign Passport or Birth Certificate; and
♥     Original Divorce Order or Decree Absolute, or a Death Certificate, if you have been married before.

What is your fee and what does that cover?

♥     My fee for Weddings is $550 which includes the preparation and lodgement of legal documentation on your behalf; meetings to compose your ceremony; a Marriage Kit containing ceremony selections, vows and poems; conducting your Rehearsal and Wedding Ceremony (only one ceremony performed per day); all travel, telephone, email, postage, stationery costs; and the use of a signing table, two chairs, white covers, PA system, CD player, feather pen and more.

Are there any other costs involved?

♥    The only other costs you could incur include an interpreter service; court fees for shortening of NOIM; overnight accommodation and/or additional travel; an application for a marriage extract issued by the Department of Births Deaths & Marriages (see www.justice.qld.gov.au for commemorative certificates).
